What to expect at our events

Alerus Center continues to follow ND Smart Restart guidelines for events. For meetings, weddings, banquets, tradeshows, and conventions, attendees and planners should expect to see some changes.

If you have questions, please contact us today.

Masks are Required

All attendees and staff are required to wear masks in the facility when moving around or when physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Additional Cleaning

Alerus Center has increased cleaning and disinfecting frequency of all areas and touch points with EPA or NEA approved products.

During the event, Alerus Center will staff additional housekeepers cleaning restrooms, public spaces, and event rooms.

Sanitizer & Disinfectant

Alerus Center will provide hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes in a variety of locations throughout the event space.

Physical Distancing

There will be one entrance and one exit to the events, whenever possible.

There will be a 6 foot distance between patrons waiting in any lines. No registration or unnecessary lines will be permitted.

Booths at consumer shows, conventions, and tradeshows will be spaced 10' apart when possible or have 8' tall draping between booths. Fewever booths be placed together.

New Layouts

All room layouts will be updates to allow proper physical distancing. Additional room spaces will be provided, if they are available, to clients.

Set ups will include larger aisles, more personal space, and fewer chairs at each table.

Food & Beverage Service

Served meals are available, but with fewer people at each round. Self-serve buffets will not be available; our staff will dish plates in buffet lines. Shared utensils, carafes, or serving dishes will not be used.

HVAC Exchange

In the ballrooms the HVAC system will change over the air every 12 min.

In the arena the HVAC system will change over the air every 30 minutes. Alerus Center can supply 100% fresh air into the arena. The arena has a total of 11,275,200 cubic feet of air space, and the air handler units can move 340,000 cfm of air.

iWave Ionization HVAC Technology

When air passes over the iWave, ions produced by the device reduce pathogens, allergens, particles, smoke and odors in the air, creating a healthy environment without producing any harmful byproducts.

iWave uses patented technology, called needle-point bi-polar ionization, to create equal amounts of positive and negative ions.  When these ions are injected into the air stream, they break down passing pollutants and gases into harmless compounds like oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water vapor (see illustration below).

When the ions come in contact with viruses, bacteria or mold, they remove the hydrogen molecules – without them, the pathogens have no source of energy and will die.  The ions also attach to allergens like pollen and other particles, causing them to band together until they are large enough to be caught by your ventilation system’s air filter.
