Alerus Center 20th Anniversary
ALERUS CENTER TO CELEBRATE 20 YEARS OF PREMIER ENTERTAINMENT IN THE GRAND FORKS COMMUNITY
Alerus Center opened in February of 2001. With 167,000 sq. ft. in size, 22,000 seats, and over 4,000 parking spots, for 20 years in the Grand Forks community, Alerus Center has been a landmark.
Alerus Center has hosted a wide variety of events in its history including weddings, University of North Dakota football and softball, basketball, commencements, conventions, family shows, meetings, monster trucks, concerts, comedians, trade shows, rodeos, and so much more. Since opening the doors in 2001, the building has welcomed over 5 million visitors at over 7,000 events. Some of the memorable marquee events have included Backstreet Boys, Cher, Britney Spears, George Strait, Metallica, KISS, and this fall Billboard’s 2020 Top Country Artist of the Year Luke Combs.
Spectra has consistently improved the Alerus Center event load by booking more events in the venue and executing them with ease. Major ticketed events, not counting North Dakota Football, throughout the building's 20-year existence has totaled to over 140.
As a way to celebrate our 20th Anniversary within our community, we will be offering slices of red velvet birthday cake drive-thru style on Wednesday, February 10th, from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm and again from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Entrance 1. We are encouraging the community to come out and enjoy a complimentary slice of cake to celebrate this milestone while supplies last.
Additionally, we will be offering various giveaways and contests on our social media platforms throughout the month of February.
